Duffy City Buses has been in business in the Bundaberg area for over 55 yrs. From its humble beginnings in Earl’s Court, Duffy’s has now grown to house approximately 25 buses, carries over 1000 passengers per day in town services and over 2000 passengers per day on school services.


SCHOOL BUS PASSES MUST BE PRESENTED AND SWIPED AT ALL TIMES

All students must swipe their school bus pass each and every time they board a Duffy's Services.  Why:

  • security and safety reasons
  • identifies how much or if you are required to pay a fare
  • it flags incorrectly registered students - only correctly registered students receive subsidy
  • it is a transport regulation
  • if you require an invoice
  • it allows us to investigate any issues

SWIPE N GO PAYMENTS:

Please Note:  All payments made on to Swipe and Go cards are ADMINISTERED by PAYPAL.  Please ensure you print out your receipt and give this to the driver to load the funds -
IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AUTOMATICALLY- YOU MUST PRESENT THE RECEIPT
 
If for some reason, you have not received an email from PAYPAL please check your 'junk' mail.  If you cannot find the email/receipt please email our office and we will send you a copy....

WEEKLY TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE FOR TOWN PASSENGERS:
Weekly tickets are now available on Town services.
 
Tickets work on a zonal fare, either 2 Zones (Town Area)  or 4 Zones (Bargara - Town).
Weekly tickets give you 10 trips for the price of 8 trips. 
Remember:
  • You must show the weekly ticket each ride
  • Purchase the tickets off any Town Service - Not available for school services
  • They are valid for 7 days from date of purchase.
  • Once the ticket is sold, it is your responsibility to show the driver each ride.

Important School Information

Parents / Guardians

To ensure that your student is currently being subsidised (BTA) by Queensland Transport please check the following:

  • Your address at the school is still the same as what you put on your BTA application.
  • You still attend the same school as you originally put on your BTA application.
  • You still have the same Parent/Guardian listed at the school as your original BTA application.

IF ANY ONE OF THE ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT YOU WILL NOT BE SUBSIDISED AND THEREFORE ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO TRAVEL ON OUR SERVICES.

Did you know you could be eligible for FREE travel to and from school?
 
In Queensland it is compulsory for children to attend school at certain stages of their life. The Queensland Government provides educational facilities throughout the state. In areas where it is not feasible for the government to provide these facilities, assistance with school transport costs is provided under the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS).

WHY STUDENTS MUST SWIPE THEIR BUS PASS

All students traveling on Duffy's City Buses for school purposes must swipe their bus pass each time they board any bus.  Swiping the bus pass is like paying a fare and not swiping the bus pass is like fare evasion.  Students who do not swipe their bus pass for more than three consecutive days will receive a warning slip by the bus driver.  The warning is really just a reminder to parents that the student needs to replace their bus pass if they want to continue receiving bus travel assistance from the Queensland Government.
